“All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a candle.” Confucius
Confronted with cancer during the summer of 2019, Marie-Caroline lived until this period a hectic life between France, England and Hong Kong. Closest to her husband, this accomplished businesswoman and blossoming mother of two children was then caught up by the disease. Known to be resilient, Marie-Caroline decided to fight this difficult battle with her love ones and by “refocusing her energy in an exciting project”.
On the morning of a new summer season, while the cicadas are singing and the sacred trees of Provence are losing their leaves, Marie creates her first candles that she calls “joy”, “confidence” and “calm” in her small workshop of the Antidote Bougies in Maussane-les-Alpilles
“The greatest traveler is the one who has been able to travel around himself once.” Confucius
These candles, which she describes as a spiritual antidote, have allowed her to express herself with passion and dedication. After exploring the world, it is finally in her small workshop next to her family home that Marie-Caroline continues to meticulously create new timeless and Provencal olfactory creations. A wonderful way to find herself and to brighten each new day.
